Drag-and-drop page builder fans, we have a new plugin to present to you! We know there are a few solid choices to choose from at this moment, but Brizy is a cool tool that can become a great contender for the throne of page builders. If you read our Brizy page builder review further, you’ll understand why.
About Brizy Page Builder:
Brizy is a new WordPress page builder, it is run by a solid WordPress company, Themefuse. They have been around since 2010 and are well-known for their original, beautiful designs.
A brief look at the WordPress repo shows that the free version of Brizy Page builder now has 40,000 active installations since launching in April 2018. Brizy is updated frequently and has gone from version 0.1.0 on April 2018 to version 1.0.63 at the time of writing (June 2019).
Furthermore, Brizy Pro, the premium add-on, receives much love and updates from the team too.
Key features of the Brizy page builder
To start off our Brizy page builder review, I’m going to cover the most important features, which should kind of wrap up all the strengths and possibilities you’ll have if you decide to use it on your website.
Clutter free. Once you start working with the tool, you notice its simplicity. You won’t stumble upon unneeded elements of any kind. The plugin just works and provides what it claims to provide. No more, no less.
Intuitive drag-and-drop interface. I remember testing other similar tools and having a hard time trying to understand what’s the role of a specific option or where should I find this and that. Well, I didn’t have this issue with Brizy. Everything is straight and smooth… like a breeze.
Over 150 pre-made blocks. These include multipurpose templates and layouts that you can customize. If you won’t find one to match your ideas, you can at least pick one that’s close to your expectations and re-arrange it to your liking.
Global styling. You can set up global styles for things like colors and typography to apply by default and then just edit individual blocks as needed.
Mobile-friendly. The plugin offers a mobile view, so you can see exactly how the page you intend to build looks on a phone screen. This way, you have the possibility to adjust the elements and optimize them for other devices.
Design elements. Aside from the ready-made blocks, there’s a bunch of elements to help you stylize your pages. You can remove or add buttons, counters, icons, tabs, images, audio/video, columns/rows, forms, progress bars (and more) in just a few seconds.
Cloud auto-save. You shouldn’t worry about losing the adjustments you’ve been working on for a long time because all your work will be stored in a cloud.
Flexible customization. When you’re editing a pre-built page, you don’t need to stick to its default structure. You can always re-order blocks, change backgrounds (image, video, parallax), redo/undo actions, adjust the paddings and margins, edit the text and the images etc.
Over 4000 icons included. The icons are available in Outline and Glyph versions.
Now, we’re going to take our Brizy page builder review little more flexible.
Review based on the some factors and it’s Score
Score – 5/5
-Brizy’s UI Is Clean And Uncluttered
The first thing that you see when you load the Brizy editing screen is a beautiful blank canvas. The UI options are simply laid out and beautiful. It’s just about the best looking interface in a WordPress page builder that I’ve seen!
The Brizy interface is simply beautiful. (I know I keep saying this but it really is!) Using Brizy is also a treat. Elements drag smoothly from the panel. Activating an element’s settings option brings up a well laid out panel that’s easy to navigate. From the options panel, you can find options to adjust everything from entrance animations to colors, add custom CSS and element IDs and a whole lot more.
A super useful addition to the UI that Brizy adds is displaying a row’s padding when hovering over it. Little touches like this that help the user save time are highly appreciated.
I came across a minor problem when I added a section showing recent blog posts. The live editor showed the posts but instead of the featured image, there was only a placeholder. I started over and repeated these steps but again couldn’t see the featured images. I checked the preview for the page and could see that the featured images were there like they should be. They’re just not visible in the live editor.
This isn’t glitchy behavior. I discovered an article on the Brizy site that indicated that this unfortunately is the planned approach.
BRIZY PRO FEATURES
-Brizy’s Design Elements
Brizy Pro (Beta) includes only a limited collection of elements such as text, icon, gallery, carousel, and form. But on the plus side, the elements included are the most essential. Documentation on their site explains that new elements will be added up until and beyond the official release of the Pro version. According to their documentation, Brizy Pro will be released sometime in 2019.
Brizy Pro Has Excellent Integrations
CONNECT BRIZY TO YOUR FAVORITE SERVICES
Brizy Pro brings with it a lot of integrations to powerful marketing tools like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, HubSpot, Salesforce, and Zapier. Brizy also integrates well with WooCommerce and Yoast SEO. With Brizy Pro, you also get integrations with ACF, Toolset, Pods, and Metabox.
BRIZY FONTS AND MEDIA
Enhance your Brizy built designs with Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts integration. Brizy also lets you easily embed YouTube and Vimeo video, audio from Soundcloud, and images from Unsplash.
Build Dynamic Pages In Brizy Pro
Easily take full control of your Post template, Archive, and 404 pages with Brizy Pro’s Dynamic Content feature. This is a really cool addition that makes Brizy Pro shine!
Brizy Pro also gives you the power to completely customize your site’s headers and footers. Coming soon on Brizy Pro’s roadmap will be adding the same control over WooCommerce and Search results pages.
LAYOUTS AND TEMPLATES
Brizy Pro really shines when it comes to the included pages and sections (called blocks in Brizy) layouts! They include 150+ full-page layouts, page sections, and pop-ups.
The layouts are well designed, modern looking, and, most importantly, they look really, really nice. Brizy organizes their pre-built layout into packs and includes 17 of them with the Pro version. Each pack is basically an entire website.
Headers And Footers
Brizy Pro also has pre-built header and footer blocks that can be added to any section of the layout. Unlike theme builders (like the one included with Elementor and the Beaver Themer add on for Beaver Builder) where a customized header and footer controls are visible on the entire site, the Brizy header and footer blocks only affect the page where they’re placed.
While this feature doesn’t turn Brizy into a full fledged theme builder, this is a great feature for building a landing page or micro-site.
Brizy works well with any theme that is well coded and includes a 100% width template or layout option. It also includes it’s own blank page template. Be aware though that the Brizy template doesn’t display the header or footer sections. That makes it great for distraction-free landing pages but not a regular page.
INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL
Installing Brizy Pro
Brizy Pro is a premium add on for the free Brizy plugin so you’ll need both installed on your WordPress site. After purchasing the pro add on, the download link and license can be found in your account on brizy.io.
Removing Brizy Pro And Lock In
Brizy Pro isn’t exactly shortcode based but it does use something similar. After deactivating, there is a a lot of leftover code. If you plan to edit that content or switch to another page builder then you’ll need to manually remove it all first.
PERFORMANCE AND UPDATES
The Brizy Pro live editing interface loads very quickly. During my testing, I very seldomly experienced any slowness or lag with the live preview.
On the front end, a Brizy Pro built pages load fast.
The Brizy team has been busy. According to Brizy Pro’s changelog, they’ve has been releasing updates at least every two weeks and sometimes as often as every few days. At this pace, I expect that they’ll soon address some if not all of the shortcomings that I found.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND DOCUMENTATION
Brizy uses GitHub to provide customer support. Users will need to create a GitHub account to create a support request. GitHub is a great tool used by development teams worldwide but I don’t think works well (or is meant work well) as a customer support tool.
There are quite a few open support requests that have not been addressed by Brizy support. A significant number of the open bug reports are weeks old with no response.
I also saw some Brizy support responses that ask the customer to resubmit their support request using the Facebook Chat feature on brizy.io. This all makes for a confusing and sometimes disheartening customer service experience.
Brizy’s Hidden Documentation
Buried in the footer menu of Brizy.io, you can find a link for documentation. After reviewing what they make available, I can see why they don’t promote it in their main menu. They offer a few basic articles and how-tos. There really isn’t much of use there for anyone. You won’t find any advanced tutorials or video walkthroughs like those available for Elementor or Beaver Builder.
Brizy is currently free for downloading from their website and the WordPress plugin repository.
Brizy Pro is currently available but licenses are still available. All licenses come with complimentary access to Brizy Cloud.
$49 3 sites license with 1 year of support and plugin updates
$99 Unlimited sites license with 1 year of support and plugin updates
$299 Ultimate Use license for unlimited sites with lifetime support and plugin updates. This is a limited time offer for early adopters. I can’t think of another page builder with this good of a plan! If you’re willing to gamble that Brizy will iron out the kinks in their Pro page builder, then this deal shouldn’t be passed up.
With all this in mind, let’s get down to the question, “Would we recommend it?”
Absolutely, “YES”. Brizy Pro is a very valuable service for any business provides best page builder tool in the whole market.
For the purpose of this review, I have used Brizy for a total of three weeks so far. Within that time frame my account experienced was just awesome.
So if you’re looking to spread brand awareness on the platform, Brizy will do the trick nicely.
